At the American sweets specialty store "Magnolia Bakery", "The Japan Cupcake" will be on sale until March 31st, as it was last year (2015). Efforts to support reconstruction of the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

The Japan Cupcake is a cupcake made by icing chocolate dough with a light texture with vanilla butter cream and topped with fresh raspberries. The price is 480 yen per piece (excluding tax).

A part of the sales (100 yen per piece) will be donated to Rikuzentakata City Hall in Iwate Prefecture as reconstruction assistance. In this initiative, which was also carried out last year, the donation was used to purchase the chicks that were washed away by the tsunami at an elementary school in Rikuzentakata.
