Oktoberfest is one of the most famous autumn drinking events. In recent years, many of these events have been held in Japan, and many of you may have actually visited one.

However, there are probably many people who would like to drink sake as well as beer. I am one of those sake fans! For those sake fans, I would like to introduce "JOY OF SAKE TOKYO 2012"! The event will be held on November 6 in Gotanda, Tokyo.

Joy of Sake" is a tasting event where the general public can enjoy the best sake from the All-American Sake Competition held every year in Honolulu, and is currently held in Honolulu, New York, and Tokyo. It is truly an event by sake lovers for sake lovers in Japan and the U.S.!

Over 300 varieties of sake to enjoy
Over 300 varieties of sake to enjoy

In addition to over 300 varieties of sake, 13 popular authentic restaurants from around the country will be offering special menus to accompany the sake at the event. This is a must-see not only for the sake, but also for the food! Since there are so many great restaurants, let me introduce a few of them based on my own prejudice.

Popular restaurants from around the region will be open, and we can expect great food!
Popular restaurants from around the region will be open, and we can expect great food!

First is "Al Porto," a famous Italian restaurant in Nishi-Azabu, which has been participating in JOY OF SAKE TOKYO since the first event, and the chef himself has a deep knowledge of Japanese sake, and even hosts "Sake and Italian food" meetings!

Next is "Chongqing Restaurant," a long-established Chinese restaurant based in Yokohama Chinatown that operates nationwide. The president of this long-established restaurant, who has inherited the authentic traditions of Szechuan cuisine, personally participated in the JOY OF SAKE HONOLULU 2012 and decided to open a restaurant this time.

The sake and food are very promising, but as you can see from the photos, it is quite gorgeous and looks like a very fun event! So I would highly recommend this event not only to sake fans.

Gorgeous and fun!
