Recently, it is said that it is a city of sports equipment and a city of musical instruments, but some people say that it is a city of curry. In addition to specialty stores, there are about 150 curry stores in the Kanda area, including cafes, coffee shops, ethnic stores, izakaya, and bars.

Kanda Curry Grand Prix 2012 will be held at Ogawa Hiroba, Kanda for two days on October 27th and 28th, in order to have more people enjoy the city of Kanda as a city of curry and further revitalize the city. That's right.


This event was held last year as well, and it seems that it attracted 30,000 people. A free paper "Kanda Curry Street Official Guidebook [First Issue Special Issue]" will be published at the same time as the event. There are 24 stores in the Curry Grand Prix. All of them are curries full of originality, and it is said that the 1st to 3rd place will be decided by the visitor vote.

Then, I would like to pick up the stores that are attracting attention from the stores that will open this year. Please note that I am introducing the shops that I was surprised at by my own judgment and prejudice.

First of all, here is "Chantoya Coconut Curry". Speaking of coconut curry, it is Thai curry, but this shop's coconut curry has developed an original "ru" tailored to Japanese people based on Thai curry, and finished it with a familiar taste while leaving the authentic atmosphere. It seems that there is. The point is that the shop is fashionable.


Next is "Sidiek". It is a restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Indian curry at a reasonable price. There are many curries that are a little heavy, but I'm glad that this shop is a healthy curry that doesn't cause stomach upset. And this Sidiek is last year's semi-grand prix store! It looks like it will be a big favorite this year.
