Speaking of fried chicken with bones, I was the first to think of Kentucky fried chicken (KFC). In addition, I decided to procure fried chicken with bones at a convenience store and compare it because it is an easy place to buy.
The prepared chickens are McDonald's "McWing" (215 yen / 2 pieces), KFC "Original Chicken" (240 yen), KFC "Red Hot Chicken" (260 yen), Lawson "Golden Chicken" (185 yen), FamilyMart 6 types from 5 companies, "Famima Premium Chicken" (190 yen) and Mini Stop "Gokujou Fried Chicken" (180 yen).
◆ Size
First, let's compare the sizes. When viewed side by side, the Mac Wing is overwhelmingly small. The Mac Wing is about the length of the middle finger, while other chickens are about the size of a palm. It's a cute size that reminds me of a side dish for lunch. It was a miscalculation that both KFC chickens were in the same area.
◆ Juiciness
The real thrill of fried chicken with bones is its juiciness. Mack was no exception and was juicy than expected.
The batter is crispy and crispy. The texture reminds me of the fried chicken "Shakachiki" that has been on sale for some time.
◆ Seasoning
Roughly speaking, Lawson and FamilyMart are "herb-based," Mac and KFC are "spice-based," and Ministop is "Japanese-style (soy sauce)."
Above all, the focus this time is on "spicyness". McWing is said to be "spicy enough to spice up", so I bought a discounted red hot chicken to commemorate the 10th anniversary.
As a result of eating and comparing, I felt that the McWing was a little spicy. Perhaps it's pepper, the spicy spiciness comes later. On the other hand, red hot chicken is spicy with red pepper. I feel spicy when I put it in my mouth. If you eat a whole piece, KFC is more spicy because of the large amount.
By the way, McDonald's Chicken Wing was a terrible defeat in terms of volume, but surprisingly, I liked it mainly in two ways.
The first point is that "the crispy feeling is good". Unlike other chickens, it's quite crispy and you can eat it like a snack. As mentioned earlier, the inside is juicy, but you can enjoy the "not too juicy" taste due to the crispness of the batter.
The second point is that it is "easy to eat". Because it is small, it is easy to eat with one hand and can be eaten "elegantly". With big chicken, the oil around your hands and mouth will make it sticky, but you can avoid it. (Although it is devised so that you can eat it with the bag at the convenience store)
By the way, "Boneless Kentucky" was released at KFC in January of this year. It seems that some customers wanted "boneless", but it seems that bones are hard to eat.
With that in mind, McWings are very easy to eat. You can avoid the spiciness of big fried chicken while enjoying the meat that is unique to bones. In addition to the set ... I think it's better for snacks and light snacks. Not buying beer was a failure.
