The "Blancpain" series sold at Lawson has been renewed with "US Blanc". It will be even lower in sugar and will be on sale from May 20th.


Blancpain is a low-carbohydrate product that uses "wheat bran (exodermis)" instead of wheat flour. Since it was released in 2012, it has been popular with people who have restricted sugar due to diabetes and those who care about their health.

The product currently on sale is a mixture of wheat bran and oat bran, but in this renewal, rice bran is used instead of oat bran. As a result, the flavor is improved and the texture is moist and fluffy.

I also tried "2 blancpains" (125 yen including tax), but the graininess peculiar to wheat bran was not strong and it was very easy to eat. The amount of sugar is reduced from 3.4g (0.14oz) to 2.2g (0.07oz) per piece. Compared to general rolls made from wheat flour, it is said to be 84.3% lower.

In fact, the renewed Blancpain series is on sale in advance at Shop Natural Lawson, which operates in the Kanto area. At regular Lawson, you can get the one before the renewal, so you can eat and compare.


It's hard to tell the difference in appearance, but it seems that the product after the renewal is a little bigger. Compared to eating, the one after the renewal certainly had a stronger flavor overall, and the sweetness of the rice was felt. Wheat bran has a slight texture, but it looks like moist rice bread. It may be recommended for "Introduction to Blanc".


The Blancpain series with "rice bran" will be released on May 20th at regular Lawson stores. In addition to "Bran bread 2 pieces", "Bran bread" (175 yen), "Cheese & tomato bran 2 pieces" (150 yen), "Bran moist melon bread (fermented butter)" (145 yen) , "Horoniga Chocolat & Whip Blanc" (150 yen), "Bran Tomato Curry Bread (with Olive Oil)" (140 yen) are available.

On May 27, "Quinoa & Orange Bran 2 Pieces" (150 yen) and "Bran's Mottling Maple & Walnut" (135 yen) will also be available. In addition, as Natural Lawson limited products, 5 products such as "Bran's chocolate bagel" (175 yen) will be developed.
