The En-eating editorial department participated in the "Haagen-Dazs Japan 30th Anniversary" 30th Anniversary Sakura Rose "New Product Launch" held on February 3rd. We are celebrating our 30th anniversary!
Before we get the new flavor, let's take a quick look at the history of Haagen-Dazs.
Haagen-Dazs was born in 1961 in New York. I thought it was Europe from the spelling of the logo, but I was born in the United States. The founder, who was born in Europe, founded that he wanted to make homely ice cream that he had eaten in Europe.
It landed in Japan in 1984. It seems that a long line was formed at the first store in Aoyama, Tokyo. I think there are some people who have a memory of lining up. In 1995, the R & D Center was established to research and develop products for Japan, and new flavors were born one after another. By the way, it seems that the first flavor for Japan was "green tea".
This time, which celebrated its 30th anniversary, the flavor chosen was "flowers". There are two types of lineup, Sakura, which is popular in Japan, and Rose, which is a popular gift. Both are flavors that you sometimes see in sweets, but how are they arranged in Haagen-Dazs?
"Sakura" is a spring-like product with a pale pink color. The top is topped with a cherry-flavored sauce. The mildly sweet ice cream is mixed with powdered cherry blossom petals and salt as an accent. In addition, it also contains a sour cherry sauce, so you can enjoy a refreshing aftertaste.
On the other hand, "Rose" has two kinds of rose scents. First of all, the sweet scent of "Turkish Rose" is on the brightly colored sauce on the top. And it seems that the strawberry ice cream is mixed with the fragrant "Damask rose". The plum sauce in the ice cream is sweet and sour and rich, so it goes well with the scent of rose. Rose tends to be sweet, but it has a moderate acidity and an exquisite taste.
Sakura seems to be more popular with men, but I like Rose. It doesn't have a strong scent, so I would like people who didn't like the scent of rose to try it. You can enjoy different flavors such as refreshing and refreshing cherry blossoms and rich and gorgeous roses, so it is ant to eat differently depending on the scene.
At the recital, flower artist Nicolai Bergmann, who is active in the world, presented a flower arrangement with the image of both products. The gorgeous rose bouquet that is finished in front of you is fascinating to the gathered press. These works will be available at the Nicolai Bergmann Flagship Store (Minato-ku, Tokyo) until February 9th.
