Today is Christmas. With that said, let me introduce you to the "Angel's Splash," a snack that is perfect for a silent and holy day.

"Tenshi no Hane" is actually the "slag" part that sticks out of the mold when baking the Okinawan sweets "Shio Senbei" that I introduced earlier. However, the "angel's splash" made from this "dregs" part is exquisitely delicious, and even though it is a rice cracker, it is so fluffy that there is no sound.

"Angel's splash" is rapidly gaining popularity on the internet, as it is said to be "really fluffy and does not make a sound", "this is too soft", and "melts in the mouth". What does it mean to be fluffy and soft even though it is a rice cracker? I'm curious, so I tried it!

■ Purchase "Angel's Splash"

It is a large-capacity pack with a width of about 20 x a length of about 30 cm, but this size is a whopping 35 grams! It's surprisingly light.

It ’s too light and I do n’t have anything.

■ I tried it

As written on the package, does it really make no sound when eaten?

What a fluffy feather ! It tastes like "salt rice crackers" with a moderately salty taste, but it is not chewy at all! However, it is clearly different from the softness that is squeezed. When you put it in your mouth, it melts and makes you feel kind to your heart.

Even so, it's too weak, and when I eat it, I laugh for some reason . Ku ... Pupup ... Mufufu, Fufufu, Ufufufufu ...

■ "Angel's splash" lunch plate

On the back of the "Tenshi no Hane" package, there is an "arrangement method" that can be used in various dishes. So, I tried to make a lunch plate with plenty of "Tenshi no Hane".

・ Onigiri with "Angel's Splash"

The only ingredients are rice and "angel's splash"

I put flour in the rice, but it's good. "Hane" has a moderate saltiness, so it's enough to mix it in the rice. The simple "salt musubi" is added with the richness peculiar to "splash".

・ Miso soup with "Angel's splash" (nameko)

The moment you put it in miso soup, the "splash" that has absorbed the water melts and spreads softly, like a cloud of sheep. It has a soft mouthfeel and goes well with nameko miso soup. In the first place, there is something called "senbei soup" in Aomori's local cuisine, so it can't be wrong.

However, since the salty taste oozes out from the "splash", it is recommended to add less miso than usual in miso soup, or add more hot water in the case of instant miso soup.

・ Stir-fried Levanilla with "Angel's Splash"

It was a fried Levanilla that I prepared because the pure white "Angel's Splash" seems to shine, but well, this is a little unclear because the taste of Levanilla is too strong. But after all, the color has improved. Since "Hane" is dry, it sucks the sauce well, so the taste of Levanilla is soaked and delicious.

■ It's delicious even if you put it in a side dish, but it's best as it is

The “angel's splash” itself is quite light, so don't expect it to play a “hidden” role. When combined with a strong-tasting dish, it absorbs the taste and eventually assimilates with the side dish. It's best to add color to it, or add it to rice to enjoy the "salt-musubi" taste.

Therefore, the En-eating editorial department came to the conclusion that it is best to eat "Tenshi no Hane" as it is. However, if you are interested, please try various arranged menus.
