The wine-like beer "Wheat Wine" will be released by Sankt Gallen on November 21st, the day of the opening of the Beaujolais Nouveau ban. There are two types, "Barley Wine (barley wine, devil)" and "Wheat Wine (wheat wine, angel)". The price is 1,050 yen for 300 ml each.

"Wheat wine" is a beer with an alcohol content of about 10%, which is comparable to that of wine. It is said that it originated in the 19th century when Britain, which could not grow grapes due to cold weather, made it against French wine. Like wine, it can be aged for a long time on a yearly basis.

"Barley Wine" is a beer brewed with 6 times more hops and about 2.5 times more barley malt than usual. Since only the part with high malt concentration is used, it seems to have a rich and honey-like texture. This "devil's wine" has a strong bitterness that is characteristic of hops and a fresh scent reminiscent of herbs. The more it is aged, the more you can feel the sweetness of malt and the aroma of dried fruits.

On the other hand, "Wheat Wine" is a beer made from wheat malt. Compared to "Barley Wine", it has a softer mouthfeel and a mellow flavor. In addition, the amount of hops used, which is the source of the bitterness of beer, is modest, making it an "angel wine" where you can enjoy the gentle taste of wheat.
