David Whipple, who lives in Utah, USA, bought a hamburger in 1999. I still own it 14 years later. Its appearance has hardly changed from the time of purchase. Reported by the US television show The Doctors.

The show reported that Whipple first began experimenting with storing hamburgers for a month to show friends that foods with synthetic preservatives wouldn't spoil. But he forgot about it, and about two years later he found a hamburger in his coat pocket. At that time, he decided to continue the experiment to see how long this hamburger wouldn't rot.

But hamburgers haven't spoiled for years, and 14 years have passed. Whipple said on the television show:

"I wanted to show my friends what the effects of synthetic preservatives were. Hamburger thought it was the best fit for the experiment. I continued this experiment for a month, but After that, I forgot to experiment. The hamburger was stuck in my coat pocket with the receipt in a paper bag. The coat was in the back seat of the car for two months. I was left alone for three months. "

Whipple said he put the coat on the closet of the room, forgetting that he had a hamburger in his pocket.
"My wife hadn't noticed that the burger was still in her coat pocket for a year or two. Then, when she found the burger, I and my wife said,'I can't believe it. It hasn't changed at all. "
The hamburger was not moldy and did not smell strange. The performers at The Doctors pointed out that the only change was that the pickles had melted and disappeared.

At the end of the show, The Doctors performers told Whipple on the phone:
"I'll wrap this burger back and return it safely. Don't worry, you won't bite it before you return it."
