"Coffee Dessert" is a cup of coffee jelly and iced coffee. When you open the lid, you will find a bag of jelly, coffee sugar, and cream. The cup could be used as a plate, so I served the contents as is.



For the size of the bag, the jelly is small. Plenty of syrup? I first tried it as it is and found it to be slightly sour. First of all, when I tried it as it is, it has a slightly sour, slightly retro and peculiar taste. The texture is more like agar than jelly! The ingredient name also says "agar agar. Compared to jelly, it is more firm and chewy.


To be honest, the taste by itself may not be to everyone's liking, but the addition of cream and sugar gives a different impression. The addition of cream mellows the taste and alleviates the acidity that lingers on the tongue. The coffee sugar also adds a crunchy texture and a sweetness that enhances the dessert-like taste.


However, the coffee sugar element may not be to everyone's taste. ...... Overall, the coffee jelly is a bit junky or retro, so if you are looking for a real bittersweet coffee jelly, this may not be the right choice for you. But considering the price, 108 yen with cream and sugar seems cosy.


Personally, I thought it would have tasted better if the syrup was left out and the jelly was well mixed with milk and sugar. I thought so. The other advantage was the long shelf life (about 2 months from the date of purchase). Why not pick some up when you go to Gyosu?
