Shaped Ice Cream Maker "Ice Da Yo-Yo"

Takara Tomy Arts will release four types of yo-yo shaped ice cream makers "Ice Da Yo-Yo" on June 15. The estimated price is 2,640 yen each (tax included). They will be available at general merchandise stores, mass merchandisers, and toy sections of toy specialty stores nationwide.

"Ice Da Yo-Yo" is a yo-yo shaped ice cream maker that can make ice cream in about 3 minutes by shaking the ball-shaped body in the same way as playing with a water balloon yo-yo. After setting the yo-yo string attached to the main unit with "ice cream ingredients" such as juice and "salt" and "ice" for cooling in the respective spaces, the user can make ice cream by putting the string on his finger and shaking it up and down for about 3 minutes.


The key to making ice cream in a short period of time lies in the "salt" and "ice" used for cooling. By combining the properties of salt, which melts ice quickly, and ice, which lowers the temperature of the surrounding area when it melts, the salt speeds up the melting of the ice, which in turn creates an environment where the temperature of the water in the bowl is below freezing (measured at -8°C). This "rapid cooling" causes the "ice cream ingredients" to solidify, and ice cream can be made. The ice cream is then stirred inside the machine by playing with the yo-yo, and the ice cream is made in a short time through the "rapid cooling" process.


The design lineup includes popular Sanrio characters "Cinnamoroll," "Hello Kitty," "My Melody," and "Kuromi. The cute, round shape with large character faces makes playing with the yo-yo even more fun. Body size is W100 x H100 x D100mm.





Since various flavors of ice cream can be made with different ingredients, you can easily make orange sherbet with orange juice, or use whipped cream to make authentic vanilla ice cream, and so on. The product comes with 10 ice cream flavor recipes and an instruction manual with explanations and examples of experiments that can be used as hints for free research during summer vacation.
