New Standard Line Oleato

Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo and stores nationwide that carry Starbucks Reserve, a total of 63 stores, will begin selling Starbucks Oleato, an innovative new line of coffee that combines Starbucks coffee and extra virgin olive oil. The coffee will be available from April 20.

Oleat launches globally on February 22, 2023 in Milan, Italy, where Starbucks was inspired by the culture of espresso. Next, it will go on sale on March 23 in stores, including the Roastery in Seattle, USA, where the company was founded, as well as in areas on the West Coast. The third global market will be Japan, where Starbucks first launched its brand outside of North America (including Canada).

The birth of Oliato began with an encounter with Starbucks founder and chairman emeritus Howard Schultz at an olive grove in Sicily, Italy, where he spent the summer of 2022. The family on the farm had carried on a tradition, passed down for generations, of taking a spoonful of extra virgin olive oil every day to bring joy to the soul. Howard came up with the idea of combining this tradition with coffee.

Oleat

is a new line of innovative coffee beverages that combines Starbucks Arabica coffee with a spoonful of Partana cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil. Three products will be available in Japan.


The extra virgin olive oil used in Oriato beverages has been carefully selected and blended by Partana, a historic Italian olive oil brand, for its compatibility with Starbucks coffee. The unique nutty, slightly sweet flavor of Partana olive oil and its smooth, buttery, caramel-like taste are a perfect match for Starbucks coffee.


The harmony created by this unexpected combination beyond imagination is a velvety smooth taste, delicate sweetness, and rich aroma that will lift your spirits and make you want to drink it again, a new addictive cup of coffee.

Reserve Oliato Golden Cream Iced Espresso

Golden Cream with a hint of nutty flavor, made with partana extra virgin olive oil, is combined with Starbucks Reserve espresso and oats milk. Prices range from 990 yen to 1,050 yen (tax included, prices vary depending on the coffee beans used).

The olive oil has a distinct aroma when it is brought close to the mouth. When you put it in your mouth, you will be surprised by the mild and rich flavor of olive oil! Then comes the gentle sweetness and the subtle bitterness of the coffee.
