Reusable Resin Glasses

STARBUCKS will now pour Frappuccinos and other iced beverages into resin glasses for in-store use. The changeover from disposable to reusable glasses will begin at stores nationwide on March 27, 2023. The program will begin in stores nationwide on March 27, 2023, with the exception of stores with no seating or limited storage space.

The glasses will come in two sizes, each corresponding to short/tall and grande/venti. The system has already been introduced on a trial basis in 106 stores in the Shibuya area of Tokyo, Osaka, Aichi, Fukuoka, and other areas since April 2022, and 100 stores in the Marunouchi and Ginza areas of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Shizuoka will join the system in February 2023. This nationwide introduction is expected to reduce waste by approximately 100 tons per year.

As the temperature rises, we expect to see even more opportunities to use these glasses. The company is guiding customers to enjoy their favorite beverage and take action to reduce waste while having fun.

raw The "Packable Reusable Straw" is also available in stores and at the official online store. The 48 x 50 x 25 mm case contains a spiral-shaped silicone rubber straw that can be easily carried around like a back charm or key chain. Weighing approximately 45 g, the straw can be cleaned with a commercially available straw brush and the case can be washed. The packable reusable straw is priced at 1,800 yen (tax included).
