Rose of Versailles" "The Rose of Versailles" is a timeless masterpiece of girls' manga by Riyoko Ikeda, serialized in Shueisha's "Weekly Margaret" from 1972 to 1973. Set in Versailles during the French Revolution, the story depicts the turbulent lives of the tragic queen Marie Antoinette and the man-dressed beauty Oscar, among others. The "Belle Rose" boom was triggered by the TV animation, movie, and stage production by the Takarazuka Revue, and even today, in 2023, it is still popular among a wide range of generations.

Marie" and "Marie Antoinette"

According to Morinaga Biscuit, Marie Antoinette, who married King Louis XVI of France, had a baking oven built in her court and baked cookies with excellent flavor. Some say that the hard cookies she particularly enjoyed were called "Marie biscuits" after her. Cookies with this name are characterized by the same design everywhere in the world, which has not changed in the past and still remains the same today. In Japan, "MARIE" and "Marie" are registered trademarks of Morinaga Seika.
