Shunkado Eel Sablet Shizuoka Matcha Chocolate

Shunkado has announced on its official website that a limited time only sweet "Eel Sablet Shizuoka Matcha Chocolate" is now available from Shunkado. It will be available at the official online store and other stores from March 20 to May 31, 2023. The price is 874 yen for a package of 6 pieces (including tax, the same below) and 1,458 yen for a package of 10 pieces.

"eel flour" dough as Eel Pie and containing matcha chocolate and matcha salt

, is a series of light, crispy, buttery "eel sablets" made with the same "eel flour" used in Eel Pie. In 2018, a winter-only flavor "Unagi Sablet Chocolate" was introduced, and in 2023, "Unagi Sablet Shizuoka Matcha Chocolate" will be newly created.

The original Shizuoka matcha chocolate is made with tea from one of Shizuoka Prefecture's leading tea-producing regions and topped with Shizuoka matcha salt, a salty flavor that goes well with the bright green color and sweetness of the chocolate. The combination of the savory flavor of the eel sable, Shizuoka matcha chocolate, and Shizuoka matcha salt can be enjoyed.
