Celebrating the 30th anniversary of its first store opening in the Kansai region, a one-week limited Thanksgiving Festival will be held at Matsuya stores in Osaka and Hyogo prefectures. The first store opened in February 1993 in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, followed by the opening of the Kishiwada store in Osaka Prefecture in March. Since then, Matsuya has gradually expanded its store network, and as of February 2023, there are 132 stores in Osaka and Hyogo prefectures alone.

Gyumeshi

In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of its opening, Matsuya's signature dish, "Gyumeshi" (beef rice), is priced at 350 yen, compared to the usual 380 yen. Matsuya's "Gyu-Meshi" preserves the original flavor and tenderness of beef, and is cooked and finished with a special sauce. The dish comes with miso soup made with flavorful and rich Shinshu red "rice miso" and a combined broth of bonito flakes, Soda flakes, and Hokkaido kelp extract for 350 yen.
