Gateaufesta Harada Rusk

I actually tried Goutte des Rois Noir, a rusk sold by Gateaufesta Harada for a limited time. I purchased a pack of 5 pieces for 864 yen (tax included). It is sold from October to late May. Not available by mail order. Available only in the Kanto region.

des Rois Noir "Goutte des Rois Noir" is a cocoa rusk coated with dark chocolate.


Noir" means "black" in French. Goutte des Rois Noir is an adult product with a bitter taste, made with milk-free dark chocolate coated on a cocoa powder-enriched gateau rusk. The use of light-bodied dark chocolate, carefully selected to match the gateau rusk, gives it a bitter yet gently sharp taste and a subtle smoky aroma that pleasantly stimulates the nostrils.


The shiny silver packaging has a mature design. The rusks are individually wrapped. When the tray is pulled out, the bottom of the box has a unique cacao pattern on it.



The large, thick rusks are coated with a generous amount of chocolate. Of course, the back side of the rusk is also covered with chocolate. When you bite into it, the chocolate crackles and you can enjoy the bitter flavor and slight richness of the cacao. It is not too sweet and has a refreshing taste. I would love to have this with coffee!



The rusk inside is crunchy, crispy, and pleasantly textured. The combination with the chocolate makes you feel a little richer, and even just one piece is worth eating!
