Mawaru Shake: Wild Grapes & Blueberries
This year, as the fifth installment of the Tohoku limited edition Mawaru Shake, the focus is on mountain grapes produced in Iwate Prefecture. Mountain grapes are an ancient Japanese wild grape that grows wild in the northern Tohoku region, and have long been prized, especially in the northern region of Iwate Prefecture. Today, it is cultivated mainly in the Tohoku region, with Iwate Prefecture boasting the nation's largest production. This time, blueberries from Miyagi Prefecture are also used as a fruit that goes well with wild grapes. By adding crushed blueberries with their skins to the sauce, the taste as well as the texture of the blueberries can be enjoyed.
This shake combines a sauce made with mountain grapes from Iwate Prefecture and blueberries from Miyagi Prefecture with the vanilla in the Moss Shake. The sauce contains pulp from crushed blueberries and juice from mountain grapes, and the use of the two types of fruit adds depth to the flavor. The sweet and sour taste of the fruit sauce is mixed with the gentle flavor of the vanilla shake.
Priced at 320 yen for the S size and 400 yen for the M size (tax included). It will be sold at 76 stores in the Tohoku area (excluding some stores).
