According to Lotte, the "Chocolate Effect" series, introduced in 1998, is a long-selling brand that is popular among health-conscious consumers. The "Meiji Chocolate Effect CACAO Ice Cream" has retained the same gorgeous aroma and bitterness, but has been made to melt smoothly and coolly, with a rich taste and refreshing aftertaste. Each cup also contains 635 mg of cacao polyphenol, the equivalent of five "Chocolate Effect Cacao 72%" cups.

The product was launched in the Kanto region in March, and in the Chubu and Kansai regions in June, and is now available in Hokkaido, Tohoku, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu. Convenience stores will begin selling the product on September 19. However, availability will vary by store.
