Aoki Shofuan "Water Eggplant Pie

Aoki Shofuan, known for its "Tsuki Makeup" and other products, has again this summer introduced "Mizunasu Pie", a collaboration sweet using mizu-nasu (eggplant) produced by Nakade Noen. The price is 350 yen per piece (tax included).

It is said to be characterized by the use of fruit-like sweetness of Nakade Noen's mizu-nasu eggplants. Nakade Noen grows, processes, and sells Senshu mizu-nasu, a traditional vegetable, in the Sawa district of Kaizuka City in Senshu, Osaka, using seeds that have been passed down through three generations and grown using their experience and advanced technology to thoroughly control soil nutrition, moisture, temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors.

This time, the eggplants are boiled in granulated sugar and butter to make a confiture, wrapped in a pie crust, and baked to perfection. The confiture is said to have a melt-in-your-mouth texture.

It is available in limited quantities at five Aoki Shofuan stores: the Kishiwada store, Kaizuka store, AEON Mall Hineno store, AEON Rinku Sennan store, and Hannan store.
