Biwa Shortcake" will be sold at 20 limited edition Ginza Cosy Corner stores in Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa, Saitama, and Osaka from July 15 to August 18. The price is 626 yen (tax included).

The loquat is a fruit that is full of juice and has an elegant sweetness and aroma. In recent years, its production has been on the decline, and there are fewer opportunities to find loquat in stores, which used to be a popular "fruit that heralds the arrival of early summer.

The loquat is rich in beta-carotene (510 micrograms per 100 grams of edible portion) and beta-cryptoxanthin (600 micrograms per 100 grams of edible portion) (according to the Standard Tables of Food Composition in Japan, 2020 edition), and has attracted attention as a fruit with high nutritional value. Biwa Shortcake" was developed to allow people to fully enjoy such a fruit in the form of a sweet.

Biwa Shortcake" is a seasonal shortcake with a juicy, elegant sweetness and fragrance. The fluffy sponge is sandwiched between a loquat cream with loquat jelly and loquat jam, and topped with Wakayama-grown loquats. Each bite is filled with the fresh taste of loquat.
