Sapporo Potato TSUBUSUBUBU VEGETABLE" was launched in December 1972 as a sister product of "Kappa Ebisen". At the time, the name was simply "Sapporo Potato. It was the first time Calbee used raw potatoes as an ingredient. The name was chosen because Hokkaido is a major producer of potatoes and the product was created in 1972, the year of the Sapporo Olympics. Today, seven kinds of vegetables (spinach, carrot, green bell pepper, pumpkin, tomato, onion, and red beet) are kneaded into the dough to create a snack with a gentle vegetable flavor. The stick shape is easy for even small children to hold, and the vegetables are also fun to look at.

Sapporo Potato BarbeQ Aji" was launched in February 1974 as the industry's first snack with meat kneaded into it. However, some people thought that curry tasted different in different households, so the name "BarbeQ Aji" was inspired by the American home-cooked barbeque dish, which uses similar ingredients.

Today, the chicken and beef broth is slowly simmered and kneaded into the potato dough, giving it a meaty flavor that even adults can enjoy. The shape of the dish is reminiscent of a net used at a barbecue.
