Yokohama Pineapple Cake Brown Sugar

Sakiyoken "Yokohama Pineapple Cake Brown Sugar

This cake was created as part of the "Chimu-don" Yokohama Tsurumi Project, which was inspired by the NHK television series "Chimu-don" which was set in Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama City in 2022, the 50th anniversary of Okinawa's return to mainland Japan. Chimu-don" is an Okinawan dialect word that expresses the excitement of the chimu (liver or heart).

It is made with Okinawan pineapple juice and brown sugar, and the rich pineapple jam is wrapped in brown sugar and butter kneaded dough and baked to Sakiyo-ken's original recipe. The moist texture of the dough, the deep taste of the brown sugar, and the pineapple flavor that spreads on the palate can be enjoyed. The refreshing package is decorated with the image of the Okinawan sea, the logo of the "Chimu-Dodon" Yokohama Tsurumi Project, and an illustration of the Tsurumi-Tsubasa Bridge.
