This collaboration was decided after the popularity of the "Chibimaruko-chan branded taiyaki" sold at the Yokohama Kurikoan Minatomirai store for a limited time in 2021. The "Chibimaruko-chan branded taiyaki" is a popular product of Yokohama Kurikoan, and is branded with the "Chibimaruko-chan" logo.

For the new "Chibimaruko-chan Yaki", a new baking die based on Momoko Sakura's illustration "Fuku-atsume" was created. The "Fuku-atsume" illustration depicts "Maruko" and "Kojikoji" together with seven gods of good fortune, sea bream, and other lucky charms. Maruko and Kuriko-chan are on the front, and a sea bream and the word "daiyoshi" are on the back, creating a festive atmosphere just by looking at the design.
