Sakiyo-ken "Chimudon suru Yokohama/Okinawa bento" arranged with Okinawan takikomi gohan juicy rice and stir-fried chanpuru!

Saki Yoken will introduce a limited-time "Chimu-Dotsu Yokohama-Okinawa Bento" which will be sold in stores from May 13 to September 30 at about 50 outlets mainly in Yokohama and Kawasaki cities, as well as at about 100 outlets mainly in Kanagawa area for pre-order. The retail price is 1,080 yen (tax included).

According to Sakiyoken, "Chimu-don-don" is an Okinawan dialect word that expresses a feeling of excitement. In 2022, the 50th anniversary of Okinawa's reversion to mainland Japan, and the fact that Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama City was one of the locations in NHK's television series "Chimu-don-don," triggered the Tsurumi Ward Office to launch the "Chimu-don-don" Yokohama Tsurumi Project in 2021, a collaboration of the public, private, and academic sectors, which resulted in a special lunch box filled with Okinawan cuisine. The staple dish, "Juicy with Miura Brussels Sprouts" is Okinawan takikomi gohan cooked in the Sakiyo-ken style. It is made with six different ingredients including tender Miura hijiki and pork belly, and is topped with sanseri (a type of edible seaweed).

The main dish, "Goya Chanpuru with Marinated Grilled Tuna," is the familiar "marinated grilled tuna" from shioumai bento, stir-fried with bitter melon and egg. The dish is flavored with sesame oil and has a moderate bitterness.

The "Sakana Tempura" is Okinawan-style tempura of soft and fluffy flounder, covered with a thick, salty batter and characterized by its firm texture. In Okinawa, it is sometimes served with Worcestershire sauce.

The "Okinawa Mozuku Salad with Shikwasa" combines Okinawa Mozuku, okra, crab-flavored kamaboko, and seaweed noodles. It is also said that you can enjoy the refreshing taste of Okinawan shikwasa. In addition, three "traditional shioumai", "carrot stew", "lotus root stew", and "shredded ginger" are also included in the package.
