Aoyagi Sohonke's classic Japanese confectionery "frog manju" is made in the style of "maritozzo," a sweet of Italian origin, and "kerotozzo" has been made even more special for Mother's Day.
The thin skinned pastry is filled with red bean paste and covered with a cream mixture of fresh cream and cream cheese. Lemon juice is added to make it moist and not too sweet.
