Morinaga's "Morinaga Amazake" will release "Amazake Hokkaido Limited Stocking" on March 8, 2012, using Hokkaido rice "Nanatsuboshi" as an ingredient. The product will contain 190g (6.7oz) and will be priced at 125 yen (excluding tax). The sales period is scheduled to last until April. The sale will end as soon as it runs out.

Amazake Hokkaido Limited Brew" is a sweet sake made with 100% Hokkaido rice and 50% Nanatsuboshi rice out of sake lees and rice malt. This sweet sake is made from 100% Hokkaido rice and 50% Nanatsuboshi. The can has a design of Hokkaido and Hokkaido rice. It is perfect for everyday drinking and as a souvenir.

Hokkaido is a very popular region for amazake, with the highest per capita consumption of amazake in Japan, about 1.5 times the national average. Morinaga's share of the amazake market in Hokkaido is about 80%, far higher than the national average (about 30%). And the familiar red can of amazake accounts for about 60% of the share of the amazake market in Hokkaido, making it the most popular amazake in Hokkaido.
