New texture matcha jelly "Fujiwaraen Matcha Jelly

Sakura Shokuhin will release a new room-temperature food product, Fujiwaraen Matcha Jelly, on March 1. The price is open.

Fujiwaraen Matcha Jelly

The deep astringency and flavor of Asamiya tea is locked into the jelly, allowing you to taste the rich flavor of matcha. The jelly is accompanied by special matcha sugar, which is a combination of caramelized sugar and matcha, and fresh, rich, pure milk fat. Sprinkle the jelly with the special matcha sugar for a delicious matcha green tea. You can change the taste by pouring fresh matcha over it to make milk matcha.

In order to sell a jelly that can be stored at room temperature, we had to think about how to preserve the deep green color of Asamiya tea, since the color fades during the manufacturing process and storage, and how to convey a sense of luxury by using Asamiya tea, which has a history of 1,200 years. After many trials, we were finally able to create a product that makes the most of the color of matcha and the characteristics of Asamiya tea.

As a company with a factory in Shiga Prefecture, it has been a major challenge for many years to find a way to make products using ingredients produced in Shiga Prefecture, and to create products that could be sold as sister products to the coffee jelly and black tea jelly that we currently sell. It was four years ago that I found out about Asamiya tea in Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture, and started to see if I could make a product using Asamiya tea. Four years ago, I started working on a product using Asamiya tea, and finally came up with "Fujiwaraen Matcha Jelly" that makes the most of the color of matcha and the characteristics of Asamiya tea.
