Dayan-no-Makau

Dayan-no-Muchu" is a monaka (bean-jam filling) made in collaboration with Dayan the cat, the main character of the epic story of the mysterious land of "Wachifield" by picture book author Akiko Ikeda. It comes in a cute package that looks like a picture book that pops out of the box. The bark and bean jam are separate, so they are always crispy when you eat them. One of the crusts has a burnt fuyaki print of Dayan on it, while the other crust has a lightly salted fuyaki print and is filled with crushed red bean paste from Hokkaido.

With its cute appearance, Togenuki Fukuju-an's Dayan no Naka is perfect as a gift. If you're interested, be sure to check it out soon!
