Cat branded square manjuu

Every February, the streets of Nagasaki are decorated with gorgeous lanterns at the Lantern Festival. Following last year, this year's festival was held on a reduced scale, and the city continues to be a lonely place. We wondered what we could do to promote the charms of Nagasaki Prefecture in this season when the prefecture is usually so lively, and we came up with the Cat Branded Kakuni Manju.

The branding iron used is "Nyagasaki Neko," a popular souvenir item. The "Nyagasaki Cat," a popular character born in Nagasaki Prefecture as a souvenir, will celebrate its 10th birthday in February 2022. The cat's face is branded on the dough, and the kakuni (boiled cubes of meat) are used as ears, resulting in a very cute kakuni manju (boiled cubes of meat and vegetables).
