Just Chickpea Butter is a spread made with roasted chickpeas (garbanzo), honey, and cinnamon, and comes in a 170 gram package that retails for 498 yen (tax included) at KALDI. The label is light blue with an illustration of a classic car carrying a package.


The ingredients are chickpeas, vegetable fats (coconut oil, rapeseed oil, shea butter), honey processed products (sugar, honey), salt, and cinnamon.


It looks light brown, like peanut butter. The texture is thick and soft.

I tried the chickpea butter.

I spread it on the bread and tasted it. It's soft and smooth in the mouth. It melts quickly and spreads a rich, savory flavor.

It tastes like kinako, which is natural because it is a bean! There is a hint of cinnamon flavor in it.


The mouthfeel is rich, but not too sweet or heavy. It has an addictive taste that is somewhat like "cookie dough before baking. In addition to spreading it on bread, you can also use it as a topping for ice cream or baked goods. You can enjoy a unique flavor that is not too sharp.
