Remove seeds and wadding from pumpkin with a spoon.
Place the pumpkin on a heatproof dish and cover with fluffy plastic wrap.

Microwave (500W) 1/2 of the pumpkin for about 3-4 minutes. If you cook the whole pumpkin, cook for 5 to 6 minutes. The heating time will vary depending on the size of the pumpkin and the model of microwave oven, so please adjust the time accordingly.
After cooking is complete, remove the pumpkin from the microwave and slice it with a knife. The pumpkin will be slightly softened, so it will be easy to cut the skin off!
