Christmas Island is located about 2,000 km south of Hawaii and belongs to the Republic of Kiribati, just below the equator. It is named after Captain Cook's landing on the island on Christmas Eve on December 24, 1777.

Christmas Island salt is made by concentrating and crystallizing the seawater of Christmas Island over a period of three months using only the power of the sun and wind. There is no strong saltiness, you can feel the mellow sweetness, and it is said that the sweetness of the caramel sauce stands out.
