Akafuku announced on its official website that "White Mochi Black Mochi (black is a different character)" will be available as a delivery-only confectionery from Akafuku; reservations will begin on October 17 at the Akafuku Online Shop and delivery will begin on October 29. The set of four white rice cakes and four black rice cakes is priced at 1,000 yen (tax included, delivery charge not included).

The black rice cake is a symbol of newborn innocence, while the white rice cake is a symbol of purity and sophistication. The white bean paste of the white rice cake is the white azuki bean paste produced in Heisei and 2022. The black bean paste used for the Kuro-mochi is a simple brown sugar flavor that was produced during the Hoei era (the period when Akafuku was founded) and continued until the Meiji era (1868-1912). It is said that the customers can enjoy the transition of taste from Edo to 2021. The calorie count is 89 kcal per piece for the white rice cake and 94 kcal per piece for the black rice cake.

The expiration date is 3 days from the date of manufacture. The product should be stored away from direct sunlight, high temperature and high humidity. The Akafuku online store will only sell a limited number of each day. Orders for each day will be closed when the maximum number is reached.
