It is a confectionary with a yellow and green coloring applied to a tooro-style manju (Japanese yam bun) filled with gozen-an (red bean paste) and branded with a tiger and bamboo leaves, depicting a tiger braying furiously in a bamboo grove. The tiger and bamboo, which have been favored as subjects of Japanese paintings, are combined with grated yam and manju.
