Toraya Momoyama / Yokan "Chuyo"

On September 9th, Toraya will introduce namagashi that matches one of the five festivals, "Chouyo." Two types, "Chuyo" made by Momoyama and "Chuyo" made by Yokan, will be available for 3 days from September 7th to 9th.

In the lunar calendar, Chungyang is the season that coincides with the harvest festival, and it is also called "Chestnut Festival" because of the custom of eating chestnuts. In connection with this festival, fresh sweets made from new chestnuts harvested in 2021 will be prepared for a limited time of 3 days.

"Chuyo" made by Momoyama is a confectionery made by Momoyama that is wrapped in flavorful chestnut paste with chopped chestnuts. The selling price is 584 yen (tax included, same below).

Alcohol concentration less than 1%. Honey is used. The stores that handle it are as follows.

"Chuyo" made from yokan is made from yokan and is wrapped in flavorful chestnut paste and sprinkled with poppy seeds. The selling price is 584 yen.

Yokan is a dough that is steamed with wheat flour and cold plum flour added to the bean paste. The manufacturing method is familiar to steamed yokan, and although it is called "Yokan" in Toraya, it is generally called "konashi". The stores that handle it are as follows.
