Starbucks "Food Loss Reduction" Program

At Starbucks Coffee, a program aimed at "reducing food loss" that reduces food waste in stores as much as possible started on August 23. Order not to waste food as a waste, donuts and cakes, depending on the day of the inventory status of each store, such as sandwiches, will be sold at 20% off for 3 hours before closing the prospect. In addition, a part of the sales from this program will be donated to the certified NPO National Children's Cafeteria Support Center, Musubie.

In March 2021, this program was a one-month trial at about 90 stores in Tokyo and Saitama prefectures. Customers agreed with the action, such as "You can contribute to the good things by buying at Starbucks" and "If you can reduce waste as much as possible", and the store partner (employee) also said "With the customer". Positive voices such as "I can proudly recommend products through sustainable efforts that are being promoted" and "I actually felt that the amount of waste was reduced and it was psychologically positive" were gathered.

To subject the goods in the hood case of each store, it is offered at a price of 20% off for 3 hours before closing the prospect. Depending on the stock status of each store on the day, whether or not it will be implemented and the start time will differ. A "SAVE FOOD" POP will be posted during the program.

Some products such as yogurt, kids drinks, and water are not eligible. In addition, the target products will differ depending on the stock status of each store on the day.

Part of the sales from this program will be donated to the certified NPO National Children's Cafeteria Support Center, Musubie, to support better food and future development for local children.
