Kameya Mannendo has announced on its official website that "Waka Ayu" will be available as a summer Japanese confectionery. As a seasonal cool confectionery, it will be available from June 1 to July 31.

The product, which is sold in stores around the time of early summer, is popular in many places as a seasonal tradition because it is shaped like an ayu (sweetfish), a fish that comes up the river at this time of the year.

Kameya Mannendo's "Wakaayu" (young ayu)

Kameya Mannendo's "Wakaayu" is a sweet red bean paste made from Hokkaido azuki beans, wrapped in a soft and chewy gyuhi pastry, and then rolled in a moist and baked skin. It is then rolled in a moist baked crust. The round and cute shape is a distinctive feature of the product.

Please note that due to measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, some of Kameya Mannendo's direct sales stores have shortened their business hours. For more information, please visit the "Information" section of the official website for updated information.

The calorie content of Wakaayu is 128 kcal per piece, and the selling price is 183 yen (tax included).
