Blue Bottle Coffee "Holiday Yokan"

At the cafe chain "Blue Bottle Coffee", "Holiday Yokan" is on sale for a limited time as a Japanese sweet that goes well with coffee. It is available at all cafes and official online stores in Japan.

As a sweet candy that is indispensable for coffee time in the cold season, it was made together with the bean paste shop "Toshoan" that has been in Kyoto for 60 years.

At Blue Bottle Coffee, Japanese sweets such as "Blue Bottle Yokan" and "Blue Bottle Yokan Matcha" have been prepared for some time, but "Holiday Yokan" follows these. The flavors are accented with spices and herbs, and dried fruits and nuts are combined to allow you to enjoy a variety of textures.

Looking at the contents of each flavor, first of all, "Blue Bottle Yokan" is a combination of red bean paste, cinnamon, coriander, figs and walnuts. In addition, "Blue Bottle Yokan Matcha" contains white bean paste, matcha, lemon, lemongrass, and figs. And "Holiday Yokan" uses white bean paste, currants, oranges and figs.

In particular, the holiday yokan is gluten-free and has the image of Stollen, a Western confectionery unique to this season, and has a taste that combines Japanese and Western styles. To match the shape of the small yokan, smaller currants are used instead of raisins, and the texture and cross section when cut are also taken care of.
