Maruhachi Confectionery's popular "Chocolate" series was developed with the desire to "want young people who do not eat Japanese sweets to eat more dumplings." A Japanese sweet with a new texture that is made by coating mochi-mochi dumplings with a special blend of chocolate.

"Chocolate Halloween Curse Mummy" was developed from the idea of "Let's make Halloween sweets that can be enjoyed by 3 generations, taking advantage of the familiarity of chocolate products!" In order to add cuteness and fun to the dumplings, we shared ideas with the female staff and completed a Halloween-like, slightly scary dish.

A mummy is represented by coating dumplings with blended chocolate and bandaging with white chocolate. From the white chocolate bandages to the suspicious eyes that look through them, each one is hand-painted. The black dumplings kneaded with bamboo charcoal powder emphasize the eerieness of the mummy.
