In Kanagawa / Yokohama, the long-established store "Heichinro" in Chinatown sells two types of "moon cakes with salted egg yolk" that look like the full moon in mid-autumn. Engraved with "Nadachinro" and "Nada" respectively. It will be available for a limited time from September 1st to November 30th.

Of the two types, the "extra-large bean paste moon cake" is a black bean paste moon cake with salted egg yolk. The skin is made by boiling molasses for a whole day without adding any water, letting it sit for a week, and then kneading it with honey, white squeezed oil, and flour. Made from 100% Hokkaido azuki beans, it is wrapped in a sticky bean that gives you a firm taste of the beans, and the skin is thinly shaped to the limit, packed in a baking mold and baked slowly. The fragrantly baked mooncake is engraved with "Nadachinro".

Next, "Oversized Dan Huang Ren Youtsuki Mochi" is a lotus seed bean paste moon cake with salted egg yolk. Cantonese style lotus seeds are used. It's not very familiar in Japan, but it has a moist and smooth texture, and it is kneaded with oil and peanuts from peanuts to make it glossy. It is also wrapped in an ultra-thin skin, and the yolk of an egg that imitates the moon is placed in the center and baked. Oversized size that can be cut and eaten by the family.

Every year in Hong Kong, the mooncakes are sold in a special box during the Mid-Autumn season, and are used as gifts for family members, close friends, and work places. According to Nadachinro, the custom of giving mooncakes is an important event that is just like adding Japanese midyear gifts, year-end gifts, and Valentine's Day.
