MUJI 100% fruit juice soda

MUJI "100% Fruit Juice Soda

I found a product called "100% Fruit Juice Soda" in the drinks section of MUJI. I thought this was unusual, as most fruit sodas are made with 10% or 30% fruit juice, so I gave it a try.

There were three types of sodas on the shelves: mandarin orange, grape, and peach. All were 350 ml and priced at 190 yen (tax included). According to the official website, there is also "apple" available.

Carbonated drinks go better with low-fructose drinks

My honest impression after trying them is that carbonated beverages go better with low-fructose beverages.

All of them are slightly carbonated, but I felt that the refreshing carbonation did not match the rich flavor of the 100% fruit juice...they did not bring out the best in each other.

Grapes

Only "grape" tastes better! The crispy mouthfeel characteristic of grape juice is well matched with the tangy carbonation, and also refreshes the strong sweetness in just the right way. Is it only natural since there is sparkling wine? Personally, I liked it better than ordinary 100% grape juice.

Mikan (mandarin orange)

The next best was "Mikan". The soda adds a bittersweet aftertaste to the sweet and sour, intense sweetness of the mandarin oranges. It has a slightly mature taste and is good for relaxing in the evening.

Peach

The most "? Peach" tasted the worst. The mild sweetness of the peaches was overshadowed by the bitterness of the carbonation, resulting in a taste that was hard to understand. It was a waste of 100% fruit juice.

I used to think that the higher the percentage of fruit juice in a fruit juice, the better! but this does not seem to be the case when it comes to carbonated drinks. However, there may be some preferences, so if you want to try "100% fruit juice carbonated", check out Muji.
