I actually tried "Coffee Rusk" sold by "Mikado Coffee", a long-established coffee shop founded in 1948. Each bag contains 10 pieces, and the price is 572 yen (tax included).
"Mikado Coffee Coffee Rusk" is an original rusk that uses regular coffee from Mikado Coffee. Carefully selected coffee beans are crushed and kneaded into the dough to make the most of the rich flavor and aroma.
The surface of the rusk is sprinkled with granulated sugar and shines brilliantly. The black grains visible in the dough are like crushed coffee beans.
It has a crispy, light and fragrant texture when bitten. The sweetness of granulated sugar comes first, followed by the distinct bitterness of coffee. The coffee flavor is stronger than expected! It is a finish that leaves a moderate amount of bitterness in the mouth even after swallowing. A little adult rusk with a good balance of sweetness and bitterness.
Mikado Coffee's original "Coffee Rusk" is a great souvenir for coffee flavor lovers. Since it is not individually wrapped, it is recommended that you eat it as soon as possible after opening it. If you like coffee, be sure to check it out!
