Calbee released a new potato chips product, "Simpotato," on February 17th. The current handling areas are Kanto, Shizuoka, Yamanashi, and Nagano prefectures. It is scheduled to be rolled out nationwide in the fall of 2020.
Calbee Sympotato
Potato chips finished with the thinnest "THIN cut" in Calbee history. It also features a crumpled shape. It's easy to pick it up and throw it into your mouth, and it's hard to get seasoning around your mouth!
There are two flavors, the red package "light taste" and the light blue package "sour cream taste". The purchase price at the convenience store was 127 yen (tax included) each.
Its thinness is more visible in the non-overlapping areas, so that the color of the plate below can be seen through.
It has a crisp and delicate texture when you eat it. Because it is thin and has many layers, you can feel the liveliness even with a single stroke. Not sweet, but an experience similar to a crepe cookie.
When crushed into small pieces, in addition to the flavor of potatoes, the simple salty taste with no habit of light taste, and the refreshing and rich taste of sour cream spread. Both are delicious!
The sound when chewing is also small, so it is convenient when you want to pinch a little in the office. Light and spring-like potato chips.
