Maizenzen has "Ebikata Hire Katsu Maki" and "Ebikata Ebi Katsu Maki

Maizen "Ebikata Hire Katsu Maki" and "Ebikata Ebi Katsu Maki

The pork cutlet chain "Maizen" will be selling its annual "Ebikatsu Maki" and "Hirekatsu Maki" on February 3rd.

Maizen is known for its "Hire Katsu Set" available at its 13 restaurants nationwide and "Hire Katsu Sandwich" at its kiosks in department stores and station buildings, but recently, a limited menu of futomaki rolls is also introduced every year on Setsubun.

The "Ebikata Hirekatsu Maki" is a fat roll of tender filet mignon, one of their signature dishes, and the "Ebikata Ebi Katsu Maki" is a fat roll of shrimp cutlet, which has become very popular recently.

Both are simple rolls of pork cutlet wrapped in vinegared rice, and the sourness of the vinegared rice is said to be in perfect balance with the sourness of the tonkatsu sauce familiar from Maisen's tonkatsu.

The price is 800 yen per roll (excluding tax) for the Ebikata Hirekatsu Maki, and 420 yen for the half size. The half size Ebi Katsu Maki is priced at 450 yen.

Each of these products will be available at directly-managed Maisen stores and major supermarkets nationwide.
