Kaidaen Kurosaka Tea "Cha Novese"

At Asakusa's antenna shop "Marugoto Nippon", I found a product "Cha Novese" that I was interested in. I actually bought it and checked the taste. The purchase price is 860 yen per bottle (excluding tax).

"Cha Novese" sold by Kaidaen is a pasta sauce that uses traditionally made Mimasaka bancha and local specialty black soybeans, Sakushu black. Mimasaka Bancha is crushed into small pieces, and Okayama Prefecture's specialty black soybean "Sakushu Black" is added and combined with garlic and olive oil. No additives or preservatives added. It has also won the "Food Action Nippon Award 2018".

First check the scent. The scent of garlic is strong, and the presence of tea is not felt so much. The punchy scent is appetizing! If you eat a spoon as it is, the taste is gentler than expected. The flavor and taste of tea will slowly follow along with the scent of garlic. The scent of tea is not intentional.

When combining with pasta, just mix about 10g (0.35oz) of "tea novelse" for one serving of pasta. The result is a Japanese-style pasta that you can enjoy the moderate saltiness and the flavor of good tea. I felt that the taste was a little light when it was 10g (0.35oz), so maybe you can use "Ocha Novese" if you like.

Also, it seems to be useful in various situations such as mixing it with mayonnaise to make a dip sauce, or using it as an accent for sautéed fish and meat! It's a perfect item when you want a little accent.

One thing I'm curious about is that because I use finely crushed Mimasaka bancha, there are some rough pieces of tea leaves left in my mouth. Be careful when eating before going out as it is easy to get caught in the gaps between your teeth.

If you like tea flavors, you should try "Tea Novese". It looks good as a gift. When you see it, take it in your hand!
