Ingredients
What to prepare. The recipe is based on Meiji Bulgaria Yogurt.Plain yogurt 400 g
*Drain the yogurt from the day before
1 tablespoon instant coffee
50 ml hot water
1/2 tablespoon brandy or rum
2 slices (80 g) sponge cake
100 ml cream
30 g sugar
Cocoa powder to taste
Directions
Drain yogurt until half full. Place a colander over a bowl lined with cooking paper and refrigerate overnight.Dissolve instant coffee in hot water and stir in brandy when cool.
Cut sponge cake into 1 cm thick slices, place in molds, and pour coffee mixture into the molds.
Add the sugar to the cream and beat to 8-9 minutes. Beat to stiff peaks.
Add drained yogurt to the cream and mix.
Pour the cream into a sponge cake lined mold. Beat the container perpendicular to the stand to release excess air and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.
Just before serving, sprinkle with cocoa using a tea strainer. If you want to eat a little at a time, you can do so after portioning.
The procedure is the same as for regular tiramisu, just replace the mascarpone with drained yogurt. You have to start the preparation earlier for the draining time, but it's not too much trouble.
How does it taste?
The smooth texture and rich flavor is just like tiramisu! It has a slight sourness and a clean aftertaste. However, it still retains a richness that is not overshadowed by the bitterness of the coffee. It is perfectly balanced with the sweet sponge cake.
Compared to regular tiramisu, it is lighter, making it a perfect after-dinner dessert. The actual work time is only about 20 minutes, and there are no difficult steps, so it is recommended for beginners in baking!
