I tried the "Beef Stew Set Meal" which is on sale as a limited-time menu at Matsuya. Beef, potatoes and carrots float in a nice, rich stew, all of which are soft to the touch and melt in your mouth.
The price is 880 yen (tax included, same below) with rice and miso soup, but 980 yen with raw vegetables. Matsuya's menu is expensive, but it has a high degree of perfection.
The seasoning is a special red wine-style sauce. When you scoop it up with a spoon and taste it, it surely reminds you of a high-class stew from a Western restaurant that uses plenty of wine. It's like making demiglace sauce enjoyable as a single dish. There is plenty of it, and it goes well with rice like hayashi rice.
Beef, the protagonist of the ingredients, is contained in a lump of rumbling. The shape is neat and well-organized, and at first glance it seems to have a firm chewy texture, but the moment you raise your teeth, it crumbles and the soaked stew and gravy spread throughout your mouth.
The potatoes are also left in the shape of the yellowtail, so you can easily break them apart and enjoy the chewy texture. Carrots are crushed just by pressing with your tongue, and you can enjoy the sweetness of vegetables slowly and comfortably.
Not only the beef bowl that you usually eat at Matsuya, but also the high-class Western food that is different from the hamburger set meal. It goes well with white rice, but honestly, it was an authentic group that made me want bread.
