Matsuya's steak shop "Steak shop Matsu" has expanded to Shimokitazawa, Tokyo. The second store following the Mitaka store. I decided to go to Shimokitazawa and try the "beef curry steak set stewed with beef tendon" where you can enjoy curry and steak at the same time.


The steak shop Matsushita Kitazawa is just off the east exit of Shimokitazawa Station on the Odakyu Line and heading south. Located on the 2nd floor of the building. I was worried whether I could enter the store smoothly only in Shimokitazawa, where people gather, but I didn't have to line up at 11 o'clock on weekdays. The place where you select the menu at the ticket vending machine at the entrance and buy the meal ticket first is the same as Matsuya of Gyudon.



The beef curry steak set stewed with beef tendon I ordered this time is 1,450 yen (tax included). A meat-based dish of beef that has been simmered to fiber in a thick beef tendon and finished in a European-style curry with steak on the side. It comes with wine-flavored scallions and Fukujinzuke, and you can also enjoy a salad bar and soup bar.


While waiting for the steak and curry, first head to the salad bar and soup bar. All-you-can-eat salad with shredded cabbage, orange shredded carrots, yellow corn, and potato salad. The soup is a simple seasoning with wakame seaweed.




Potato salad retains the texture of potatoes, and if you can afford it, you can refill it. The shredded carrots are lightly seasoned with vinegar and do not require dressing. It is elegant and has a finish similar to the "carottes rape" that appears in French restaurants.


Steak and curry arrive while watching the taste of the salad. The steak is rare and can be adjusted to your liking on a hot rock. The curry is a mixture of torotoro beef and rumbling beef, and it seems to be very satisfying to eat.




You can taste it separately, but since it's a good idea, I decided to put the curry on rice and then put the cut steak on it and taste it together. As expected, the meat that melts into the roux crumbles in the mouth and conveys the umami to the tongue.




European style but spicy as Indian curry. The steak is delicious enough just to sip with roux without sauce. In addition, the degree of roasting is soft, whether it is rare or medium, and can be bitten off by just raising your teeth lightly.


The garnished wine scallions are beautiful reddish purple, and the flavor is certainly a little scented with red wine. It has a sweet taste but is refreshing and can be enjoyed like pickles with steak.



A greedy menu where you can enjoy curry and steak at the same time. If you want to eat solid meat in Shimokitazawa, you can put it in the options and there is no loss.
