Even in September, when the heat is still harsh, the sweets in the basement of the department store are all dressed in autumn. At the popular French confectionery store "Dalloyau", there were macaroons with "marron" and "pumpkin" flavors that are unique to autumn, so I bought them.
At first glance, "Marron" looks like chocolate, and is a macaron that uses French marron paste and marron cream. Plenty of light brown cream is packed between the crispy and light macaroons.
When you put it in your mouth, the macaroons that crumble and fluffy cream are all in one. The surprisingly rich mouthfeel makes you feel as if you are scooping and licking marron paste from a jar. The chestnut flavor is more elegant than the sweetness of sugar, so it is recommended to combine it with coffee as well as soft-flavored black tea. Actually, I don't really like chestnuts, but after eating this, I thought, "Chestnuts are delicious! I want to eat more chestnut sweets!" Even if you don't like chestnuts, the feeling of warmth and mellowness of chestnuts is skillfully utilized to make you think so.
And "Potiron" that looks orange is a macaron that uses pumpkin paste. Light yellow fluffy cream is sandwiched.
Contrary to its vivid appearance, it has a soft flavor that you can't tell what the flavor is right after you put it in your mouth. As it melts on your tongue, you will be smiled at its familiar sweetness, saying, "Oh, it's a pumpkin." Macaroons that are lighter than "Marrons" and have a sense of security like when you eat pumpkin pudding or custard cream. It seems to be liked by all generations.
In addition, as macaroons for a limited time, "Earl Gray" using Earl Gray tea leaves and "Chocolat Orange" using orange-flavored ganache are also on sale. When I asked the shop staff about the sales period, they said, "It's undecided, but it's just been released, so I think it's still a while." If you are interested, please visit the store as soon as possible. It's also cool to enjoy reading with marrons and pumpkin macaroons during the long autumn nights.
